Debbe Whitcliffe leads on the well-being and safety of players and members as the clubs welfare officer holds a vital role within a grassroots football club. Primary responsibility revolves around safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all individuals involved in the club, particularly children. This involves implementing and upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to create a safe and inclusive environment free from discrimination, harassment, or abuse. Debbe acts as a point of contact for any concerns or incidents related to safeguarding, providing support, guidance, intervention as necessary and work closely with coaches, volunteers, and parents to raise awareness of safeguarding issues and promote best practices for the welfare of all club members. Debbe also provides signposting to relevant support services and agencies and facilitate training and education on safeguarding and welfare matters.
